Ask senator to protect parks

The county, state and national parks located in and around Geauga County are a wonderful asset and natural stress prevention devices. My wife and I spend hours weekly hiking in the parks, and we have enjoyed each that we have visited, especially those near our home in Geauga County.

Lately the parks have come under fire from a few groups claiming that they are an economic burden. I would suggest that the great majority of our taxpayers believe that the relative small cost associated with procuring land and maintaining our parks, is well worth the costs. And so I call on Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, as a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, to do everything in his power to help protect these great, valuable resources in Ohio. We must protect the Antiquities Act and the Land and Water Conservation Fund. We cannot afford to sacrifice our public lands for private interest.  Please call Sen. Portman’s Cleveland office at 216-522-7095 and express your support for our parks.
