Observatory Park hike shows trails unused by snowmobiles

About 15 members and supporters of Protect Geauga Parks braved the freezing rain to participate in the hike at Observatory Park on Saturday afternoon. A large contingent of Scouts were also out on the trails. The trails showed a lot of footprints from hikers and their K-9 companions, but, interestingly, no snowmobile tracks. From our perspective this makes it a successful season so far for the Geauga Park District’s snowmobile program.

  1. Actually, there were snowmobile tracks, but they were made about three days earlier, judging by the amount of new snow on them. They freely cruised off-trail into the large adjoining fields.
