2017 Heroes of Conservation Reception

For the third consecutive year, Protect Geauga Parks is proud to honor Geauga County Heroes of Conservation. The Heroes of Conservation reception will take place at the Munson Township Hall at 2:30 PM on Sunday, November 12.

This year we will honor and celebrate Jim Bissell and the League of Women Voters of Geauga County. Dr. Bissell is currently the Director of Natural Areas and Curator of Botany at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. He is well known to the conservation community of Ohio and was named to the Ohio Natural Resources Hall of Fame. The League of Women Voters of Geauga County was involved with the formation of the Geauga Park District from its very beginning. It was a committee formed by the League that made the initial proposal to establish the Geauga Park District.

Also at this event, Protect Geauga Parks will award the first annual Bob McCullough Memorial Conservation Scholarship to three outstanding Geauga County high school students.

This event is free and open to the public, however reservations are required due to limited seating. Please call 440+477-5648 by November 4, 2017.
