Public Lands in Peril

Our next Conservation Conversation will be held on June, 1 at the West Geauga Library. The event speaker will be Nathan Johnson, Public Lands Director of the Ohio Environmental Council. Find out what is happening in our public lands and what you can do to protect them from misuse and destruction.

Presentation to Geauga Democratic Party

Protect Geauga Parks will make a presentation at the Geauga Democratic Party meeting on Thursday, October 20 at the Democratic Party Headquarters located at the corner of Rt 87 and Rt 44. The presentation begins at 7:00pm and is preceded by a spaghetti dinner that begins at 6:00pm. There is a $10 charge for the dinner, however there is no charge to attend the presentation only.

 

Second annual Heroes of Conservation event

The second annual Heroes of Conservation event will be held on November 13 at 2:30pm at the Munson Township Town Hall.

We will again honor three Geauga citizens who have made major contributions to the conservation and protection of parkland in Geauga County throughout their lives.

Hike the West Woods

Sunday June 5th @ 2:00 PM 

This 902 acre park has a bit of everything — a variety of different woods, hills, caves, etc.  We will do Ansel’s Cave Trail of about 2 miles and end with Discovery Trail of about .5 miles.  There is an observation deck at the end where we will check out the view.  This hike will have a couple of steeper hills and some ungroomed trails (aka: not a bridle trail) so good footwear is encouraged.

Conservation Conversation: Climate Change—Your Decisions Affect Our Future

The Hershey Montessori Integrated Science High School Class presented the findings of their Global Climate Change Study on May 25. This was an outstanding presentation that was very well attended.

Geauga Maple Fest

April 23 & 24. Come join the parade! Howl with Odie as we march around Chardon Square. Let the public know that we are proud to march to promote preservation, conservation and protection of the Geauga Parks.

Dancing with Koyotes

You won’t want to miss this one! Saturday, April 16, 1:30PM at the KSU branch campus in Burton This is our 2nd annual membership event that’s focused on fun and conversation. Bainbridge Ohio 44023 Get the details here….   Wetlands Will Save the World! This Conservation Conversation was held on Sunday, March 20 at the Bainbridge Town Hall. You’ll have several more opportunities this year to hear engaging speakers talk about the many ways in which the Geauga Parks help to protect the natural resources of Geauga County and northeast Ohio. All the events this year will focus on the importance of water.
