Russell Township officials hope for their day in court

RUSSELL TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Officials are hoping to have the approval of Geauga Court of Common Pleas Judge Forrest Burt to establish a separate park district under their control, and not governed by controversial Juvenile and Probate Court Judge Timothy Grendell. Burt is holding a public hearing on the matter Aug. 11.

If Burt approves of the new “511” park district, designated for the Ohio Rev. code section it falls under, township trustees will choose five to seven people to establish guidelines and present it to voters who will decide whether or not to proceed.
