The September 2 edition of the Geauga Times Courier contains a full-page ad for the Geauga Parks District, paid for with your tax dollars. The add is a compilation of several recent Parks publications and prominently features photographs of the Probate Judge, the executive director and the current three board members along with the judge’s usual statement of “fact,” —”The parks are better than ever” emblazoned across the middle of the page.

The judge’s penchant for self-promotion is legendary, so having his picture and favorite propaganda statement included in a publicly funded advertisement is not surprising although aggravating none-the-less. Having the ad composed from a conglomerate of previously published announcements is just lazy.
