Seitz amends his amendment, putting “lipstick on a pig”
YOU have already made a difference, but now we need a final push.
That’s right, Rep Bill Seitz has amended his amendment. We are calling it the “Lipstick on a pig amendment” to the amendment. It simply shuffles authority to the probate judge’s handpicked park board (Park boards serve at the pleasure of the probate judge). So when any 2 of 3 park commissioners vote to cry “interference,” the judge takes over just as before.
Don’t be snookered by the language that says this amendment won’t interfere with your Constitutional 1st Amendment rights. Baloney! The judge will act in the same old way and it will be up to you to stop him with a law suit. That could easily take years to wend its way through the courts and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Worse, we, the taxpayers would get to pay for the probate judge’s defense.
Don’t stop now. Call the House Finance Committee. Timing is critical. They vote Tuesday.
When you call, you may be talking to an aide or a machine. Don’t let that bother you.
Just Say, amendment HC1793 needs to be totally removed from the budget bill.
Share this with friends and relatives—especially those elsewhere in Ohio.
