Photographer Linda Butler presented her slide show, Lake Erie on the Edge, to an audience of about fifty people in the Oak Room at West Woods Nature Center. Her photographs showed the great variety of landscape surrounding the lake, from heavily industrialized areas of Ohio and Michigan to pristine natural areas of Ontario. Her images of agricultural and mining activities in the Maumee Valley drove home the point that things happening far inland can have a tremendous influence on the water quality of the lake.
The presentation was the latest in a series of Conservation Conversations organized by Protect Geauga Parks.
