How to contact your Park District

In case anyone is trying to reach the Park District here’s the instructions as per the website.

On the front page of the website (unless you are using a phone or iPad) there is a yellow banner at the top of the page that says Trail Alerts. Click on that and you’ll find a message that says:

INTERRUPTED SERVICES

Geauga Park District is experiencing a temporary phone, email and internet interruption due to unforeseen circumstances.

For any program or reservation assistance, please call 440-226-4636 or 440-226-4695 between 10 AM and 4 PM or email geaugaparkdistrict@gmail.com.

These numbers may or may not work, someone may or may not call you back and it’s 50/50 if anyone will answer your email.
Don’t try to contact the commissioners using the emails listed on the website. Those are the old emails that no longer work. Apparently no replacements have been posted.

All of this, of course, is the result of the Park District’s move to separate itself from oversight by the Geauga County Auditor and the Treasurer. Let’s hope they remember to pay the light bill. The “unforeseen circumstances” are that the Parks management and the board of commissioners failed to read the text of their own resolution at the June 28 meeting and also ignored instructions from the County Auditor given to them in February on how to prepare for this transition.
