2024 Bob McCullough Scholarship Awards

Protect Geauga Parks (PGP) is accepting applications for the 2024 Bob McCullough Memorial Conservation Scholarship. Scholarships of $1000 each will be awarded to up to 3 high school seniors who live or attend school in Geauga County. The scholarship program is aimed at students with evidence of volunteering, service, and/or activism that promotes conservation in support of PGP’s mission. Qualified Applicants Will:
  • Describe a plan of college study in an area that will promote conservation, preservation, and protection of nature;
  • Provide evidence of a commitment to one or more principles of PGP’s mission. Examples include, but are not limited to, participation in extra-curricular activities such as Envirothon, academic or community projects, volunteer service, conservation/activism clubs, fundraisers, internships, or employment; and
  • Live in or attend school in Geauga County and graduate High School in the Spring of 2024.
Background Protect Geauga Parks created the Bob McCullough Memorial Conservation Scholarship in 2017 in honor of the late Bob McCullough. A former Geauga Park District Board member and high school biology teacher in Geauga County, Mr. McCullough influenced multiple generations to appreciate nature and value conservation in Geauga County. Scholarships are funded through private donations from PGP supporters and the generosity of the Foundation for Geauga Parks. Applications must be submitted to info.protectgeaugaparks@gmail.com by midnight, Sunday, April 1, 2024. Recipients will be announced on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
