Steve Madewell was the October 3, 2019 Conservation Conversation speaker for Protect Geauga Park. His talk was titled “The Intrinsic Value of Protected Public Open Spaces”
Steve Madewell is a conservationist and musician who has worked for four park districts. He had served as Executive Director for Metroparks of the Toledo Area, Lake Metroparks and Geauga Park District before retiring in 2016.
Over the course of his career he had been directly involved in nearly every facet of park operations, from environmental education and law enforcement to land acquisition, wetlands restoration and natural resource management. Steve remains involved in national, state and regional conservation initiatives.
Steve has a great deal of experience with public sector administration, management and problem solving, and has extensive experience with land acquisition, policy development, resource management, wetland restoration and long-range planning.
