Guide to Absentee Voting—Part 4

Voter registration in Ohio closes on October 5! Read parts 1—3 of this series and make certain your registration is up to date!

Absentee ballots will be mailed to voters beginning October 6. Look for your ballot in your mail box, fill it out and return it as soon as you can.

There have been a few recent changes in the voting system in Ohio due to court rulings. Some counties (including Cuyahoga) have been given permission to set up additional drop boxes for absentee ballots. Geauga County will still have only a single drop box at the Board of Elections office at 470 Center Street, Building 6A in Chardon.

Finally, social media is now awash in voter information articles similar to this series. We recommend that you go directly to the Ohio Secretary of State website (link below) if you need information that we have not provided. This will avoid all the social media trackers that follow you around the web and also avoid any potential misinformation that may be floating around.

The Ohio Secretary of State website has complete voter information at the Elections and Voting in Ohio page.
